The front door. It’s the first thing people see when walking into your home. It’s the chance your home has at making its first impression. Standing at the front door a guest can either think wow this needs some love or wow this looks so lovely, I can’t wait to see the rest of this home.
Right now our front door is in need of some love. Our house is not new but it’s not super old either. Built in 1960 I’d say the door frame and the door have seen a half dozen paint colors. Right now it’s brown on the exterior and white on the interior. But, I can see green and yellow peaking through. Not only has the door and door frame been painted countless times but so have the door hinges. Even the door knob and the deadbolt don’t match.
So here’s the plan. We will fill all of these holes, sand down the frame and lightly sand the door so we have a nice smooth clean finish. We will be removing the window mullions and really cleaning the glass. We’ll be changing the doorknob, deadbolt and hinges to premium 100% nickel hardware by Baldwin and using a keyless electronic Level deadbolt. I know some of you may think I’m crazy for tackling things as tiny as the door hinges, but let me tell you, those tiny details make all the difference. It’s the difference between ok and WOW. Trust me, it’s worth it!
