This week has been a whirlwind! It was so great to be back in NY, getting a glimpse of fall, and seeing family and friends. But wow—there’s nothing like being away to remind you how great home truly is.

I’m happy to be back in my routine and excited to continue working on the built-ins this weekend. We’ll be bringing them into the office and making sure everything fits as planned before I glue them up.

Although I’m no spring chicken in the DIY world, I’m nervous about this one—not the build itself, but because this is the first time I’m tearing apart something new. I have to remove the baseboards in the office, and we’ll also need to relocate some electrical wiring (which I won’t be handling myself). We’re at that stage in the project where we just have to trust the process. Sometimes things get worse before they get better.

Also, can we talk about the shelving unit I installed in my office? I can’t believe how life-changing six simple shelves could be! I’m still riding the organization wave, so I’m relinking my favorite Amazon home office organization accessories here, along with a link to the Container Store’s Elfa unit I installed. I couldn’t be happier with the solution!

I’m really excited for next week. I plan to make great progress on the built-ins so we can finally get to the fun part—creating the doors and painting. That’s when it will all start to feel real.

Aside from that, I’m definitely getting into cozy mode. Temperatures have dropped a bit here, so I’m itching to bring some cozy textiles into the house. I’ll share what I find soon!
